Requirements: Blend and package a granular product in a 50 lb bag in a box. Accept and fulfill orders from retail locations and transmit shipment information via EDI to ensure timely invoicing.

Delayed regulatory approval created a problem for a large muti-national agricultural chemical company wanting to blend and package its product in time for industry seasonal demand. The customer had already placed the product in catalogs and conducted marketing efforts in anticipation of approval. The challenge for this project was to source specialty chemical ingredients and inert filler material. Douglas obtained commitments and volume pricing for the product’s key ingredients as well as the packaging materials. Within 30 days, our staff was ready to begin mixing batches of this new product, along with fulfilling orders, packaging, shrink wrap, warehousing and shipping throughout North America. An EDI program allowed the customer to begin getting immediate feedback on the successful product launch and maintain adequate stock levels to meet demand.
